ClearPath Hours vs Track Your Hours
An honest comparison from an LCSW
I built ClearPath Hours because I needed something better while logging my own clinical hours. Track Your Hours is the legacy tool in this space, and a lot of associates have used it for years. This page is a plain comparison of how the two products differ — not a hatchet job. If TYH is the right fit for you, stay with it. If you want to see what a newer take looks like, keep reading.
The 30-second version
If you only read one section, read this one
- ClearPath Hours covers all 50 states + DC from day one. Track Your Hours focuses on California, New York, and Texas.
- We catch mistakes the same week you make them. A live rules engine flags things like supervision-to-direct ratios before they pile up — not at submission, when fixes are painful.
- The supervisor experience is in-app, not on paper. Supervisors review and e-sign weeks in ClearPath. TYH still leans on printed PDFs.
- ClearPath Pro is $25 a year. That's roughly a quarter of the legacy tracker's price, and 50% of every Pro subscription goes to Shane's Coffee, a vocational program for people with disabilities and mental health challenges.

Pricing
Why we charge $25 a year
Track Your Hours sets its price where it sets it, and that's their call. We made a different one. Pro is $25 a year — about the price of two coffees a month — and it includes everything: unlimited hours, the AI reviewer, the supervisor portal, and auto-filled board PDFs for all 50 states and DC.
A few things you should know before you sign up:
- The free tier isn't a trial. It stays free. Fifty entries a month, one state, and the live rule checks are on the house, forever.
- Pro has a 14-day free trial. A card is collected at checkout, but you won't be charged before day 14. Cancel during the trial and you don't pay.
- Half of every Pro subscription is donated. 50% of Pro revenue goes to Shane's Coffee, a vocational training program for people with disabilities and mental health challenges. We chose the partner before we set the price.
If you compare us against the legacy tracker's roughly 4× annual price, the math is straightforward. We'd rather have you tell another associate about ClearPath than pay us more.
Coming from TYH
Switching is easier than you think
If you've already logged a year of hours in Track Your Hours, the last thing you want to do is retype them. You don't have to. Export your TYH log to CSV and bring it into ClearPath — our import tool recognizes TYH's column layout and auto-maps the fields, so activity types, supervisors, dates, and direct/indirect hours land where they should.
What you'll need to do once after the import:
- Confirm your supervisors and their license numbers — we ask for them up front so the e-sign and PDF-fill features work cleanly.
- Pick your state and licensure track if you didn't pick one during signup.
- Skim the rule-audit screen the first time you open it. You may see a few flags on historical weeks. They aren't problems with the import — the rules engine is just running on data that was never audited before.
Most associates are up and running in under fifteen minutes. If you get stuck, email support@clearpathhours.com and we'll help you through it.

A note from the founder
Why I built this
I really, really don't like tracking hours. I'm an LCSW. I tracked my own clinical hours for years, on a spreadsheet, in three different colors, and I still ended up rebuilding the whole thing the week before I submitted my application. Getting to the end of my hours should have been exciting. Instead it was stressful, and most of that stress was paperwork I'd been putting off.
I tried Track Your Hours along the way. It's a competent tool and it's helped a lot of associates get licensed. But I kept wishing for things it didn't do — a check that ran while I logged, a supervisor flow that didn't end in a stack of printed PDFs, a version that worked outside of California. So I started building one. ClearPath Hours is what I wish I'd had during my own associate years.
If you try it and it isn't for you, that's a totally fine outcome. The free tier exists so you can find out without a credit card. And if you stay, half of what you pay funds vocational training for people with disabilities and mental health challenges, which is the reason I keep doing this on top of clinical work.
